Lotus WhiteGlow Serum & Micro-emulsion Review

I know there's been too many skin whitening product reviews over here lately, but I promise this is the last one for a long long time. Some people want to know what I think about these products, so I just want to get it over with and do one final 2-in-1 review.

I'm reviewing them together so it'll be easier to compare them, because I've used them together and then separately, and I've concluded that only one of them is a winner and worth buying again.

Lotus White Glow Intensive Skin Whitening Serum

What it is:
Enriched with Grape, Mulberry, Saxifraga extracts and Milk enzymes that are known fairness agents A proprietary formula that distributes via an advanced delivery system It visibly refines large pores, eliminates blackheads and reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The result, you have radiant, youthful looking skin. Contains no harmful chemicals.

How to use:
Use morning and evening all over face and neck after cleansing.

This is the first product I used from the Lotus White Glow range. I like the thin gel-like texture, it hydrates my skin, and smells nice. However, I didn't see any obvious changes in my skin.

I also noticed after about 10 days that the quantity is quite less, when I couldn't pump out the serum with ease. I think that bottle will last only for 2-2.5 weeks if you apply it all over your face & neck, 2 times a day, everyday of the week.

Because it's so less and haven't done anything commendable, I feel like I'm using some kind of novelty add-on product. Maybe it doesn't deserve that tag, but I couldn't find any sugar-coated words (at 3:30 am!)

How I use it (now): I just use 1 full pump and dot the serum only on my dark spots.

 Skin Whitening & Brightening Micro-emulsion SPF 25 PA+++

What it is:
Lotus White Glow Micro-emulsion is a revolutionary formulation that blends the hydrating properties of water and nourishing goodness of oil in a manner that the resultant formulation has very fine particle size.
It contains the same plant extract like the Serum which lightens, whitens and brightens your skin.
This has several advantages:
  • 2-6 times deeper & faster penetration
  • Quicker delivery of ingredients
  • Nourishes and hydrates
  • Leaves no residue.
How to Use:
Use morning and evening all over face and neck after cleansing.

Now when I started using the Micro-emulsion, my skin really really lit up, from the very first time I used it. It makes my face glowy and bright, but not in Fair & Lovely kind of way. if you've ever used F&L, you'll know what I mean. The glow looks natural & dewy.

It has definitely improved my uneven skin tone. I'm constantly battling melasma, which is always under the surface of my skin and I can always see the outline of it, like a brown map that's embedded under my skin. When I started using this, the dark shadows somehow don't look so obvious. So I guess the Milk Enzyme, which blocks melanin pathways, is really doing its job.

Even thought this is partly oil, it doesn't make my combination/oily skin look greasy or cause breakouts. I think it would work really well on aged/wrinkled skin as well, because it's very creamy and moisturizing it'll probably fill up a few lines here and there.

How I use it: 1 full pump is enough for during the day because it's quite thick, but at night  I use 2-3 half pumps.

Lotus says use the Serum & Micro-emulsion together for "synergic effect", but when I did use them together, the two didn't mix well on my skin and became flaky, which looked really messed up Not a good thing, especially if I'm going to apply foundation on top.

Serum ~ Rs.195
Micro-emulsion ~ Rs.225

Serum ~ ♥♥♥♥♥ 3/5
Micro-emulsion ~ ♥♥♥♥ 4.5/5

Repurchase? I'm repurchasing the Micro-emulsion, but not the Serum. Maybe I'll give the Gel Creme a try instead. Maybe.

Btw, where I can purchase lotus products and lakme ( original ) bc when I went to India once I had a very bad experience about lakme products they sold fake ones. So this second time I dont want to fail again so the best thing is asking ppl that know more :)
Thank u sweetie and keep ur great work :)

  8. stylish hijabi- Thank u so much :). Too bad that u got fake ones! I'm sorry I don't know what u mean..U mean online?

  9. No, here in Singapore for example we have Watsons, a drugstore where you can find all type of make up and skin care, so I'm asking if you can tell me drugstores in Delhi where I can buy Lakme and Lotus products. :)

  10. stylish hijabi- oh ok. Here we don't have a big drugstore like Watsons. We have Guardian & New U, and they sell most brands. Of course other cosmetic stores in markets sell them too.

  11. Really helpful review, Cynthia. My next buy is going to be the scrub and micro-emulsion. I've always found Lotus products to be good so far.

  13. Its alright, though better than those other Lotus White Glow Beauty range products. Nice Review. :)

  14. True micro emulsion is better than the white glow serum. i have my first hand experience.

I ♥ finding little notes in my Vanity Case, so do drop one. I read all of them & I try my best to reply to each & every one of them [check back in 2-3 days =D] but most times it's physically impossible! Either way, I love to hear from you & really appreciate you taking the time out to share your thoughts <3

Thank you for reading! :)
